Media has an exciting lineup for Sunday night:
3 PODS (print on demand...digital selections)
- each 3 -4 min. focusing on the behind the scenes making of The Chronicles
of Natnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (opening
December 9th)
1. The Director and his
thoughts of keeping true to the book
2. The locations, literally
filmed all over the world
3. The "animation" or technical
aspects of the film, including the mechanical heads the actors wear
Then...Trailers/Previews - a
few clips from the movie, which are made more meaningful by the PODS
A short presentation on C.S.Lewis and the
moral imagination - his beliefs about the role of fantasy
- why he based his fantasy firmly on the harsh reality of WW II - the historical
context of the children being packed off to the country, approx. 1 milion
of them, through the schools and teachers.
MSLMA conference attendees will receive a
FREE
16-page Educator's Guide
The assets (like the wardrobe and costumes
used in the film) will be on a nationwide tour of 10 cities through the
public libraries [including Boston Public Library] with possible
outreach to school libraries involving read alouds with celebrities....it
might be that announcement of this program will be ready in time for our
conference
