The taste in literature depends completely on the reader and this makes it difficult to compose a list of all time must read books. However, taking into consideration the books that have been most successful in the commercial market, this list becomes easier as most of us do not have the time to choose a few books and read through them to find out the ones that we truly appreciate. Going by this list it seems that many different ranking systems have given different books different ranks. However, almost all these systems talk of the same books over and over again meaning that the books that feature in more than one ranking system must be worth reading because most of the public loved these books.
